據普氏能源資訊2月1日新德里報道，印度財政部長阿倫? 杰特雷周三在提交2017-2018財政年度國家預算時說，為了鼓勵印度國內使用天然氣，印度已決定把液化天然氣（LNG）的進口關稅削減一半從5%減少到2.5%。

　　印度財政部的一名官員說，修改后的LNG進口關稅將在4月1日新財政年度開始時生效。

　　去年10月份，印度石油部長普拉丹曾表示，印度將打算在今后的3至4年內把天然氣在本國能源結構中所占的比例從目前的6.5%提高到15%。

　　India has decided to cut import duty on LNG to 2.5% from 5% to encourage the use of natural gas in the country, finance minister Arun Jaitley said while presenting the national budget for fiscal 2017-2018 Wednesday.

　　The revised rate will come into force when the new fiscal year starts on April 1, a finance ministry official said.

　　In October, oil minister Dharmendra Pradhan had said that India would aim to raise the share of gas in the energy basket to 15% from 6.5% currently in the next three to four years.
