據道瓊斯3月9日消息，英國石油公司（BP）資深經濟學家Kaushik Deb表示，過去五年新建的煉油廠在生產滿足國際海事組織（IMO）低硫標準的船舶燃料或柴油方面應該沒有什么問題，因為這些煉油廠使用了先進的煉油技術。IMO要求從2020年開始所有船只必須使用硫含量不超過0.5%的燃料，與當前3.5%的硫含量相比將大幅下降。這可能意味著近期柴油需求將大幅增加。

　　[Dow Jones] Refineries that were built in the last five years should have no problem producing low sulfur marine fuel or diesel that meets the new International Marine Organizations low-sulfur standard because they are advanced in technology, says Kaushik Deb, a senior economist at British Petroleum. IMO requires that, starting 2020, all ships must only use fuel that contains no more than 0.5% sulfur, a huge drop from the current 3.5%. This could mean a sharp rise in diesel demand in the near future.
